My brother called on Tuesday from his office in the tower,
Said he’s billing out his clients by the fraction of the hour.
He asked what I’d accomplished since the morning sun arose,
I said I watched a blue jay argue with a garden hose.
He said, ""Brother, you're just drifting, you've got no grand design,
You're just burning daylight, throwing away your time...""

I may be way behind on achievements you anoint.
But maybe... just maybe… that’s the point.

I pulled off on the shoulder in rush hour rain,
To photograph a rainbow lighting up the gray terrain.
From a car beside me I hear 'do you need a hand?'
I shake my head, but I can tell he doesn't understand.
You may think I'm crazy standing out in this weather...
But that rainbow is awesome... I've never seen one better!

One passerby just shook his head, but all the rest were wowed.
