There's No Going Back
A photo resurfaces. A memory of what was. A question lingers: what if we'd chosen differently?
This soaring post-grunge rock anthem is about honoring the past without reliving in it — and finding peace in the choices you’ve made..

THERE’S NO GOING BACK

[Verse 1]
I found a photo of us today, and a smile came to my face.
From the summer down by the ocean, in that tiny old place.
I enjoyed seeing your smile, and still hear your singing voice
Then I recalled parting ways, when our failure to choose was our choice.
Looking back I remember that, when things were good they were great
I wonder how we’d be today, if one of us said ‘hey let’s wait’.
[Chorus]
Each decision casts a vote.
And time respects our choices.
Time only marches forward.
There’s no going back.
No, there ain’t no going back.
[Verse 2]
In the few years since back then, I like the man that I became.
Since then I moved on with my life, and I’m sure you did the same.
When I saw your face again, I asked if the “new us” stood a chance.
So I thought of reaching out to you, and the idea of a new romance.
You, after all, were the one I loved, and if we gave things a go…
But that was sparked by the photograph. In the end, I let it go.
[Chorus]
Each decision casts a vote.
And time respects our choices.
Time only marches forward.
There’s no going back.
No, there ain’t no going back.
[Verse 3]
You know, in looking back, I see a lot of growth and good times.
I felt great, you were great, and even we were great sometimes.
But that was then, this is now. Since that time we made new plans.
So there you are, and here I am. At peace with where I stand.
I wouldn’t trade those times for anything else under the sun… but
Time keeps ticking, I’m not turning back, so I’ll just keep moving on.
[Chorus]
Each decision casts a vote.
And time respects our choices.
Time only marches forward.
There’s no going back.
No, there ain’t no going back.
